City Series: Boston

Our friend Jonah Miller spent several years living and skating in Boston, so naturally we asked him to recommend a few videos for our city series. - VP

City People II : Boston Creme

Ever tried a frontside noseslide down something? Then you know how hard this must have been. Tommy Wisdom, frontside noseslide, City People II : Boston Creme, 2006.

City People II : Boston Creme is a really good video from the mid 2000's that pretty much set the trajectory for a lot of the 'fresh' ledge skating that still defines the Boston scene (at least to me).

Nate is pro for Western Edition nowadays, John & Tommy Wisdom still rip, Kevin Coakley just turned pro for Traffic, and they've all got dope parts that maybe not everyone outside of Boston has seen already. The video isn't available online in it's entirety, but you can watch a few of the parts on YouTube:

RAW Skateboards - Know the Ledge 2

RAW has been around since 2006, and since then they've done three full length videos.  The first Know the Ledge is rad, but this one (#2) is a little more comprehensive and current. RAW does a good job of keeping things 'underground', removing their most recent video from the web after it had been up for a few days.

Orchard - Stone Soup

Stone Soup provides a look at another side of Boston skating, a side that embraces a more 'modern East Coast style', complete with high pants and gritty spots.

Orchard is without question Boston's premier shop these days and they're pretty central to the scene, making this video required viewing for anyone interested in what's coming out of Boston these days.
