Zered's Park

There’s a skatepark in Brooklyn that is so bad, the only name we could come up with for it was Bad Park.

When we refer to this park as being ‘bad’, we mean that it’s absolutely terrible. All coping is flush with the tops of the quarterpipes. It has some of the most inappropriately gnarly hubbas in all of the Five Boroughs, as well as a Euro gap that shoots directly into the air at an angle far too vertical for tricks to be done with any degree of comfort. Despite the fact that roughly 70% of the surface area of the park contains zero obstacles, there is no actual flatground to skate in the entire park. Additionally, the park’s overall variation in pitch has led us to believe that the builders of the park possibly left their levels at home during its construction.

Referring to this park as ‘Bad Park’ is more of a running joke than anything else at this point . However the reason for our writing of this piece is no laughing matter, for we have a declaration to make: moving forward we will only be referring to the formerly named ‘Bad Park’ as Zered’s Park, and you should too.

No stranger to terrible spots, Zered Bassett has figured this park out and proceeded to systematically and unequivocally destroy the place, awful angles and all. The clips he routinely posts from it have caused us to utter ‘Maybe that park isn’t SO bad…’ more than a few times now. But alas, it IS so bad, and Zered is just really, really good. Enjoy this edit we’ve compiled, but do not be fooled by how easy and fun he makes the park look. It is neither.

Happy New Year everyone! Our resolution is to never go to Zered’s Park in 2021, but to continue enjoying any and all clips he produces from it.
