VP Granite Jam 2021

With the help of Lurker Lou, Labor Skateboard Shop and Venture Trucks, we built a granite ledge at the Long Island City DIY. To celebrate the new ledge we thought itโ€™d be fitting to through a best trick contest - so we did.

Despite all the crazy skating that went down, the esteemed panel of judges was able to complete the mind shatteringly difficult task of selecting winners. Cody Rosenthal came through in Third Place winner for a Switch Noseblunt 270, Walon Saavedra was awarded Second Place winner for a Fakie Flip Tailslide 270, and Aamir Wiliams secured First Place with a Bigspin Backside Tailslide Shove-it out.

Huge thanks to Labor, Venture, Lurker Lou and everyone who came out to skate and party. And go check the ledge out if you havenโ€™t yet, it is so good :)

The ledge.

Lurker Lou made trophies for the top 3.

Lou dressed up as a piece of granite. Here he is with the winners!

Fabrizzio Caro did a 360 Flip Smith Grind and won this pair of trucks. Murrell was standing in front of the camera when Fabrizzio did it ๐Ÿ˜

Colin Read was on his way to a hike Upstate. He asked his wife if they could swing by to see the event, and he ended up skating for an hour. Newtown Creek is just as scenic as Bear Mountain, right?
